  2. As a part time resident here I am grateful to the folks who have been working hard to get these criminals before the courts. While we must produce evidence of bad management and neglect let's not forget that Jadewinds is still a beautiful property with a viable future and the buildings, while looking unfinished, are still struturally sound and one day will be up to 21st century standards as some already are. For sure 1.1 million dollars stolen from us is distressing, it amounts to about $1100 per unit, still alot of money for each of us to lose but looking at it this way it does not seem so insurmountable, We will recover from this somehow and thanks to your dilligence justice will be done and Jadewinds will once again be a valuable urban oasis.

    1. Even if the theft amounts to approximately $1,100 per unit, we will be paying a new 10-year assessment of $180 per month to pay for the repairs that were never done!

    2. If our first assessment was about $3000 per unit and the money stolen was about $1110 per unit, then why are we going to pay $180 a month for 10 years which equals to over $20,000 per unit? Is their still an investigation going on about the stolen money?

  3. I would like to add one more comment, The large cracks in the buildings are simply the normal expansion joints which have been uncovered during renovations. They pose no structural risk to the building. But of course we are all anxious to see the work completed properly.

  4. Hi all. I went to the buildings today to see an apartment I would like to purchase for myself. This is my first home. I have read some blog entries and I must say I'm a bit scared now. I was about to make an offer but now I'm not so sure. Would anyone be kind enough to answer some questions for me?
How long have the balconies been incomplete? Has the issue been resolved? When will they be complete? Have the trash, parking, guest parking and cable issues been resolved?
I would greatly appreciate down feedback; as I said, this would be my first home and don't want to make a bad investment in an apartment in which I'm going to have problems from the get go. Thank you so much.

    1. You should run as fast as you can from this property! It will be a very long time before these problems are corrected.

  5. 1) I want my balcony. 2) Why do I need permission from the guards to get in the property? 3) Who thought those speed bumps were a good idea?

  6. you will have your balcony back...... a serious construction company named Carrousel will start working there in may 2016, daysi building first. if you are a resident you do not need permission from the guards to gain access, the speed bumps are necessary due the prior accidents people had when they hit the exit gate.

  7. What about the money that was stolen? Will I have to pay another assesment besides the one i already paid for nothing? When will the Camilla buildings be worked on?

  8. My family and I are thinking in buying an apt there now that the new administration took over and is trying to recover the complex. Can anybody share your experience or vision on how is doing and going to be for the Jade Winds now. Are the owners happy? Feeling hopeful? We been living in nmb for 5 years now and wanted to get a place to call home but all the buildings seems to be in the same situation.

Thanks in advance! Hope Jade winds recover soon for the peace of the families that call it home.

  9. So wait - an ex-cop stole your association's money and the owners have to pay more because this pig walks free with that money? How is this fair? How is this legal? Justice is dead.
